Terms of Service
These Terms govern use of Care Chronicles. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to them.
Eligibility and account security
You must be legally capable of entering this agreement. Provide accurate information, protect credentials and authentication codes, and notify us promptly of suspected unauthorized access. Accounts are personal and may not be shared; Care Circle participants must use their own accounts.
Service purpose and limits
Care Chronicles organizes information supplied by users. It does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, treatment, legal advice, crisis response, or emergency services, and it does not replace professional records. Contact qualified professionals or emergency services when appropriate.
Your content, authority, and acceptable use
You retain responsibility for content you provide and grant Care Chronicles permission to process it only to operate and support the service. You must have any authority or consent required to store, share, upload, or record another person's information. Do not use Care Chronicles unlawfully; infringe rights; introduce malware; probe security; interfere with service operation; impersonate others; or store content you are not entitled to use.
Care Circles and Managers
The Manager assigns roles and is responsible for member access. Members may withdraw their access. Manager responsibility changes only to an existing member with an eligible subscription. A transfer does not alter the former Manager's separate account billing. The Manager should remove access promptly when it is no longer authorized.
Trial, subscription, cancellation, and taxes
The planned Dedicated plan is US$17.99 per month after a five-day free trial. Live payment collection is not currently enabled. Any checkout explicitly labelled test mode is for testing only and must not receive real payment information. When live billing is activated, Canadian customers will be shown and charged the Canadian-dollar equivalent calculated by Stripe at checkout. Stripe will process payment. The billing portal displays current status and cancellation controls. Cancellation prevents future renewal according to the status shown by Stripe; amounts already due are not refunded except where required by law. Applicable taxes may be added. Reasonable advance notice will be provided before a recurring price change.
Availability, changes, backups, and exports
We work to maintain the service but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. Features may change for security, legal, or product reasons. Encrypted backups are retained for up to 14 days for disaster recovery. Users should download exports when an independent copy is needed.
Suspension, termination, and deletion
We may restrict access to address nonpayment, security threats, serious misuse, or legal requirements. Users may delete eligible accounts after resolving shared-record management. Deletion is permanent, subject to temporary backup retention, queued provider cleanup, and legal obligations.
Disclaimer and limitation
To the extent permitted by law, Care Chronicles is provided “as is” and “as available.” We are not responsible for clinical decisions, emergencies, user-entered inaccuracies, unauthorized user conduct, or losses that reasonable exports could have prevented. Nothing in these Terms excludes rights or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded. To the extent permitted by law, aggregate liability relating to the service is limited to fees paid for the service during the six months before the event giving rise to the claim.
Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of Nova Scotia and the applicable federal laws of Canada, without excluding mandatory consumer protections. The parties will first attempt in good faith to resolve a dispute through written notice. Courts located in Nova Scotia have jurisdiction where legally permitted.
Changes, assignment, and contact
Material changes will be dated and communicated when appropriate. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance where permitted by law. You may not assign your account except through the product's primary-Manager features. Care Chronicles may assign this agreement as part of a business reorganization subject to applicable law.
